There has been a lot of activity for Suku Mentawai over the past few months; including cultural celebrations and traditional tattooing, illness, shamanic ceremony, and a particularly fortuitous meeting with the (West Sumatran) cultural education department in Padang.
An article detailing description of all this, and including photos, can be found on the As Worlds Divide film’s website, which can be viewed by clicking HERE.
Right now though we’re pleased to announce that Globalquest have selected the Suku Mentawai program as their support project for the first quarter of 2016 (yes, January – March!) and will be donating $2 for every $1 raised, which is very generous of them.
In support of this, our partner – the Indigenous Education Foundation (IEF) – is hosting a celebratory social event. Whereby, for every $50 pledged, donors will receive an entry ticket to an afternoon/evening of live music, feasting, festivities, prizes, and – thanks to the major sponsor Pitstop Hill Mentawai – a chance to walk away with $2000 cash!
See flyer for details:
There are limited tickets available so make your donation today to secure your chance to win. Ticket donations can be made either through the IEF donation page HERE (paypal-safe and includes credit card option) or by transferring directly into the IEF bank account:

This is a wonderful opportunity to raise funds to finalise the Mentawai cultural education booklet and dictionary, commence the program, and complete the As Worlds Divide social impact documentary film. We’re very excited. Thanks for your support!
